Terms and Conditions
We will conduct an initial visit so that we can meet you and your dog, discuss any specific requirements and talk through terms and conditions.
All terms and conditions will be deemed accepted and agreed by the owner once walking commences.
Walking
Dogs must be sociable if they are to join group walks. I reserve the right to terminate walking you dog at any time and with immediate effect if the dog is giving cause for concern.
If off lead walking is agreed I will walk your dog on a lead until I am satisfied that recall is established. In order to comply with our insurance, owners must confirm in writing that Surrey Dog Walker has permission to walk your dog off lead.
Dogs will be walked in all weather conditions, but I will apply personal judgement if a walk needs to be cut short due to adverse weather conditions that could compromise the safety of me or your dog i.e. thunderstorms or excessive temperatures.
Dogs are walked in small controlled social groups up to a maximum of five.
Dogs must wear ID tags with owner’s details. Please advise if any specific training aids are used i.e. Halti, Muzzle, Harness etc.
If your dog is not spayed and walked in season, I cannot be held responsible if your dog becomes pregnant.
Vaccinations & Health
Dogs must have up to date vaccinations and it is recommended that dogs are vaccinated against kennel cough. Any health issues or allergies will need to be disclosed on the initial visit.
Insurance
Surrey Dog Walker has Public Liability Insurance with Cliverton Insurance which covers walking whilst in my care; however Surrey Dog Walker cannot be held liable for any loss, injury, illness or death of the dog. It is recommended that owners will have their own full insurance cover.
Keys & Paperwork
House keys will be securely stored and held on a keyring. Each key will be identified solely by your dogs’s name. No personal details will be forwarded or passed on to any third party.
Veterinary Care & Fees
The owner is responsible for any veterinary bills incurred and details of your vet must be supplied on the initial visit. In an emergency I will make every attempt to contact the owner and utilise the services of your own vet but reserve the right to make decisions without verbal consent to ensure the immediate welfare of your dog. This may include taking the dog to the nearest veterinary practice and not necessarily your own veterinarian. Owners will be responsible for payment of any veterinary fees.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be notified at least 24 hours prior to the agreed booking . Cancellation on the day is charged in full, but will be at my discretion depending on circumstances.
